House to Vote on Overturning Trump Vetoes

WASHINGTON—The House will vote Jan. 8 on whether to override President Donald Trump’s vetoes of two bills. Trump issued the first two vetoes of his second term on Dec. 31. One bill was designed to help finance the construction of a pipeline to provide water to tens of thousands of people in Colorado. The other would designate a site in Everglades National Park in Florida as part of the Miccosukee Indian Reservation. Congress can override the vetoes with support from two-thirds of the members of the House and the Senate. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has said he plans to vote to sustain the vetoes despite bringing a vote on the measure....
