How battleground states became so pivotal in presidential elections

Of the 50 states, voters in just seven of them are likely to determine the next president thanks to the Electoral College. Both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris’ campaigns have spent millions on rallies to zero in on the so called battleground states to try and tip those voters in their favor.
