Tehran has appointed a new supreme leader, Mojataba Khamenei, the son of the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed on the first day of the US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Moments after Mojataba was announced as successor, Iran unleashed a heavy barrage of missile and drone attacks directed at oil facilities, in what Arab officials tell NBC is its strategy to drive up oil prices to create pressure for a ceasefire.
