ST. LOUIS NEEDS CARE, NOT CHEMICALS! There is a controversial proposal to open a new hazardous chemical facility in North St. Louis, spearheaded by Israeli Chemical Limited (ICL). The facility, linked to military interests, has raised significant concerns due to its potential environmental and health risks. This issue connects this project to a legacy of gentrification, environmental harm, and the militarization of St. Louis, particularly in Black communities. With local residents already facing food insecurity and health disparities, this petiton calls for a united pushback against the facility to protect St. Louis’ vulnerable communities and to prevent the city from becoming another site of corporate and military exploitation.
