Elon Musk’s special government employee status expires this month, but President Donald Trump said the Tesla CEO is “really not leaving” in an Oval Office news conference with Musk on May 30. “He’s going to be back and forth, I think,” President Trump told reporters, referring to Musk as he stood next to him, before calling the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) “his baby.” The president also praised Musk on multiple occasions for his work in cutting “unbelievably stupid and unbelievably bad” waste in the federal government with DOGE. “Elon’s not really leaving,” Trump said. “He’ll be back often—he’s part of the team and always will be.”...
