Trump Says Republicans Should ‘Take Over’ and Nationalize Voting in Some Areas

President Donald Trump said in a podcast interview with former FBI deputy director Dan Bongino on Feb. 2 that Republicans should “take over” the voting process in certain areas and place it under national authority. In the interview on “The Dan Bongino Show,” Trump alleged that election outcomes were being distorted by noncitizen voting and suggested that Republicans should do more to address it. “These people were brought to our country to vote, and they vote illegally. And you know, amazing that the Republicans aren’t tougher on it,” the president said. “The Republicans should say, we want to take over. We should take over the voting, the voting in at least many, 15 places. The Republicans ought to nationalize the voting.”...
