President Donald Trump announced on April 11 that the U.S. had begun the process of “clearing out” sea mines from the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump did not specify exactly how the process was being carried out. The crucial waterway on the southwest coast of Iran is used to transport one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas.
“The only thing they have going is the threat that a ship may ‘bunk’ into one of their sea mines, which, by the way, all 28 of their mine dropper boats are also lying at the bottom of the sea,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Saturday morning....
