Newark mayor arrested while protesting at ICE detention center

Ras Baraka, the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, was released Friday night after being arrested while protesting at a ICE detention facility. He was accused of trespassing and ignoring warnings to leave the detention center. Baraka said he could not speak about the case due to an agreement with attorneys, but said, “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
