The relatively new conservative president of Poland, having finally taken the oath of office after a tumultuous baptism of opposition fire and electoral shenanigans brimstone in early August. He is no friend of the European Union, and has been vocal from the beginning about his intentions to protect Poland's sovereignty as a country from the EU's ever-expanding ambitions for control. This puts him and the country's prime minister, the Europhile Donald Tusk, at opposite ends of the political spectrum in what is now a split coalition government.]]>
