Polls show Zohran Mamdani has commanding lead in NYC mayoral race

The latest poll shows 33-year-old Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani is leading his closest competitor, former governor Andrew Cuomo, by more than 20 points. Mamdani has gone from relative unknown to household name. His promise to improve affordability has appealed to many New Yorkers, but he’s also faced criticism over his lack of experience and comments he has made about Israel and Hamas.
