Republicans Claim Fundraising Advantage Over Democrats 6 Months From Midterms

A GOP congressional committee said that the Republican Party holds a fundraising advantage over Democrats and said it will support Republicans’ thin House majority, six months away from the November midterms. “The fundraising success goes beyond the NRCC, reflecting a fully aligned operation led by President [Donald] Trump and House Republican leadership as well as outside partners,” said the National Republican Congressional Committee in a memo dated May 5. Trump’s MAGA Inc. had $347 million on hand, and the Congressional Leadership Fund had $91.4 million, according to the memo. The NRCC said that it has $78.2 million in cash after the first quarter, which surpasses the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) $69.9 million for that same time period.
