Senate Passes $900 Billion Defense Policy Bill, Sending It to Trump’s Desk

The U.S. Senate on Monday evening gave the green light to a $901 billion draft of the must-pass National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which sets defense policy and funding levels for the upcoming fiscal year. The Senate approved the bill in a bipartisan 77–20 vote. It will now head to President Donald Trump’s desk to be signed into law. The bill had already been passed by a wide bipartisan margin in the U.S. House, which approved the legislation in a 312–112 vote on Dec. 10.
