President Donald Trump confirmed on April 3 that some staffers at the National Security Council were recently laid off.
While speaking with reporters outside Air Force One on April 3, Trump was asked why members of the council were fired.
“[We] always will let go people that we don’t like, or people that we don’t think do the job, or people that may have loyalties to somebody else,” Trump said.
“You’ll always have that.”
The president also denied media reports alleging that right-wing activist Laura Loomer had influenced the decision. Anonymous media reports had alleged that Loomer recommended the firings to Trump in a meeting the previous day....
