Trump loyalist Kash Patel has been confirmed as the FBI’s new director, placing him at the top of the U.S. government’s law enforcement agency.
After weeks of intense hearings, President Donald Trump’s nominee was finally confirmed on Feb. 20 in a narrow 51–49 vote margin, an obvious sign of division in the Senate.
Patel, 41, confirmed on social media platform X that he was honoured to become the ninth director of the FBI, promising to restore its integrity, after the agency has been mired in controversy in recent years.
