President Donald Trump on Monday said he wants to see the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act passed, keeping the pressure on Senate Republicans to pass the measure that remains stalled in the upper chamber.
Trump wrote in his all-caps style that in the measure, all voters should show identification, they must show proof of U.S. citizenship to vote, and no mail-in ballots except for travel, military service, disability, or illness.
Additionally, he wrote that the measure must include (all-caps) “No men in women’s sports” as well as “No transgender mutilation surgery for children.”
The statement on social media comes a day after the president warned he would not sign any bills into law until the Save Act gets approved by the Senate and doubled down on his administration’s push to add voter requirements ahead of the 2026 midterms....
